University of Applied Sciences funded by business
The NORDAKADEMIE is the first state-recognized private university to be directly founded and funded by business (Hochschule der Wirtschaft). It offers practice-based courses of study and outstanding conditions and high success rates. With over 2000 students and over 300 partner companies, it is also one of the largest private on-site universities in Germany. In March 2012 the NORDAKADEMIE was the first university in northern Germany to achieve institutional accreditation. In 2015 the NORDAKADEMIE was the first university in Germany to be certified by the 'Rat für Nachhaltige Entwicklung (RNE)', the German Council for Sustainable Development, and as such complies with the German Sustainability Code.
Two locations - one success story: Numerous alumni success stories provide the proof – practice-based courses of study and outstanding conditions for learning open up impressive career paths worldwide for graduates of the NORDAKADEMIE. What is more, the co-operation also pays off for the companies involved. Thanks to the „Hochschule der Wirtschaft“ (the University of Applied Science funded by industry), they are able to recruit the best trainees from their own ranks. There are many factors that prove we are one of the leading private universities in Germany:
- the NORDAKADEMIE was one of the first universities in Germany to achieve institutional accreditation (2012)
- our MBA course was the first at a university in Germany to be accredited with the premium seal of the FIBAA for 5 years (2008)
- the NORDAKADEMIE has consistently been ranked one of the top universities
- we have a comprehensive „Studium Generale“ component with more than 200-course units per year.
With some 1,700 students and more than 300 cooperating enterprises, the NORDAKADEMIE is one of the largest private universities in Germany. The dual study programmes are offered on the campus in Elmshorn, Schleswig-Holstein, whereas the Master's programmes and training courses take place in the Dockland, which is an exceptionally designed building at the river Elbe with a spectacular view on the port area.
