About Goa Institute of Management
Goa Institute of Management (GIM) was founded in the year 1993. Apart from its flagship two-year full time, residential, PGDM program, the school also offers a two-year full-time residential PGDM in Healthcare Management (HCM), and a two year PGDM in Big Data Analytics (BDA). Intensive Management Development Programs (MDPs) are offered for participants from industry.
Over the years, GIM has earned the reputation of being one of the finest Management Schools in India. Most B-School surveys have given the Institute top marks in terms of placement record, quality of education, enabling infrastructure and efforts to create socially responsible managers. Through the AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), the Indian Government has granted approval to GIM’s programs.

HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES
The flagship PGDM Full-Time program offered at our Sanquelim Campus serves the needs of corporates nationwide. The PGDM Part-Time program offered at our Ribandar campus addresses the specific needs of industry in Goa and the Government of Goa.
The PGDM Health Care Management program also offered from our Sanquelim Campus brings a much needed rigorous management focus to the healthcare sector. Unlike any other healthcare management program in the country, this program prepares future managers in all the major domains of the healthcare industry.
The faculty pool at GIM consists of experienced industry professionals, young researchers, and academicians. Campus life includes an amazing mosaic of film-making, choir-singing, clubs, theatre, quizzing, music-bands, festivals and Learning-with-Fun activities with children from the neighboring villages.
INNOVATIVE CENTERS OF EXCELLENCE
Center for Excellence in Research
This is a faculty-driven initiative that facilitates the creation, management, and dissemination of knowledge. The philosophy of the center is “Generate knowledge through research that informs teaching and is informed by teaching” The objectives of the center are; to create an environment that engenders and fosters research, to support faculty members engaged in high-quality research, to nurture critical thinking among students by the use of research-driven pedagogy, and to develop institutional expertise and thought leadership in key areas.
Faculty members have published their work in international journals of repute like Journal of Product and Brand Management, Journal of Targeting, Measurement, and Analysis in Marketing and Vikalpa amongst others. Case studies developed by faculty have been published by Harvard Business School, Richard Ivy, and Babson.
Center for Social Sensitivity and Action
This center was created to promote social responsibility within and outside GIM and reflects the educational philosophy of GIM which emphasizes the development of socially responsible managers. The GiveGoa initiative gives students an opportunity to serve less privileged communities and an opportunity to contribute to a more inclusive society. This initiative is designed as a course titled “Social Responsibility and Action”, a compulsory component of the first year of the program consisting of a three-credit experiential project with partner organizations (NGOs, Government bodies, schools, and institutions) and a one-credit classroom learning experience.
Center for Innovation, Creativity and Design Thinking
This center fosters divergence in thinking and a convergence of ideas for creative solutions. Students are encouraged to nurture and express their creative, innovative and design sense through theatre, music, dance, short filmmaking, and photography among other activities. Students experience and creative productions are shared on social media and other public platforms.
Center for Entrepreneurship Development
This center fosters entrepreneurship by working with students interested in starting their own ventures, helping others set up ventures, assisting existing entrepreneurs to grow and manage their businesses better, supporting family businesses, mentoring start-ups, facilitating in the turnaround of existing organizations and incubating startups. The focus of the center is on entrepreneurship beyond self-employment, lifestyle entrepreneurs, and skill-based training or entrepreneurship.Entrepreneurship is also fostered through courses on entrepreneurship and venture finance in which students are encouraged to come up with a new business product and service concepts for future development.
PRESTIGIOUS INTERNATIONAL LINKAGES
GIM has long-standing partnerships with premier institutes abroad. GIM’s student exchange programs enable GIM students to study abroad for one term at some of the premier institute in Europe that are our partners and work in teams with international students. Students can attend terms at University of Antwerp, Belgium, Católica-Lisbon School of Business and Economics, Portugal, Warsaw University of Technology Business School, Poland and Hochschule Ingolstadt, Germany.
Goa Institute of Management also has an internship collaboration with the University of Antwerp called The Joint International Internship Seminar (JIIS). The JIIS is an intensive two-week program held annually in the month of September. Students from both Belgium and GIM work together on projects in Goa. The program provides an excellent opportunity to work across cultural differences within tight deadlines to solve real management problems and present the recommendations to the executives of the companies.
To facilitate the development of cross-cultural perspectives, increase the ability to engage across borders and open up opportunities for students across the globe, GIM conducts foreign language courses for the full-time students. Basic courses are offered in French, Portuguese, German, and Spanish in collaboration with Alliance Française de Goa, Instituto Camões, Panjim and Indo–German Educational and Cultural Society &Communicare, Goa respectively.
